Write for us
We take original, useful Australian essays of 1,000 words or more. We do not take catalogue copy.
What we publish
Door Sales is a specialist journal. A good pitch teaches a homeowner, builder or specifier something they can use on a real opening in an Australian climate. That might be a BAL-29 garage door, a Federation four-panel restoration, or a lockset that actually satisfies an insurer. We are not looking for “top ten front doors” slideshows or manufacturer talking points.
Length, voice and language
- 1,000–2,000 words. Longer is fine if every section earns its keep.
- Australian English: aluminium, colour, metre, verandah, weatherboard, bushfire.
- Cite the NCC, Australian Standards or state variations when you lean on them.
- No invented prices. Ranges are fine if you say they are ranges.
How to pitch
Send a 150-word outline, your bio, and two links to published work to the contact form with the topic set to “Guest essay”, or email support@worldwidebacklinks.com. Do not send a finished draft first unless we have agreed the angle.
Conflicts, payment and links
Tell us if you sell doors, hardware, or related services. We may still run the essay with a disclosure. Guest essays are unpaid unless we commission them. We do not sell bylines. If a piece contains a paid or guest-post outbound link, we mark it rel="sponsored" — including any paid mention of a supplier directory. Editorial links to standards bodies, councils and museums are ordinary citations.
Rights
You keep copyright. You grant Door Sales a perpetual licence to publish, archive and lightly edit for house style. We will not rewrite your argument without talking to you.
Read the editorial standards before you pitch.
